The Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Political Affairs and Acting Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya, Stephanie Koury, has discussed with leaders and coordinators of a number of Libyan political parties and blocs ways to advance the political process.
“They shared their perspectives on advancing the political process, stressing the need for an inclusive approach. They further highlighted the importance for authorities to meet the economic and social needs of the Libyan people, and preserve Libya’s unity and sovereignty”, koury said on her X page.
Koury conveyed the mission’s commitment to engage all Libyan stakeholders and stressed the crucial role of political parties in holding authorities accountable for good governance, meeting development needs and respecting Human Rights.
