Stephanie Koury, Acting Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL), met with Khalifa Haftar at his office in Rajma, south of Benghazi, to discuss steps to advance the political process and prevent unilateral actions.
According to Koury, the meeting focused on moving forward with a UN-led political resolution, ensuring a transition toward national elections and a unified government. She underscored the importance of adopting a unified budget for the coming year to curb financial waste and support stability.
Haftar’s media office confirmed his support for UNSMIL's efforts to establish lasting stability in Libya, highlighting the need to create suitable conditions for presidential and parliamentary elections.
