The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Government of National Unity has announced, in a statement, the election of the State of Libya to the position of the second deputy of the African Union Presidency Office.

This came during the 35th ordinary session of the Executive Council of the Union, which was held in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa.

Senegal was elected to lead the African Union’s presidency, while consultations are still ongoing between member states to elect the first deputy.
