The Libyan Fatwa House has called on citizens to look for the crescent of the month of Shawwal for this year, at sunset on Tuesday, 29 of Ramadan.

In a statement, the Fatwa House urged any person who sees the Shawwal crescent to report it to the nearest court provided with the exact time of the sighting.

The Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdul Hamid Dbeibah, directed the head of the General Authority for Endowments, Mohammed Al-Abani, to commit not to publishing any data regarding the birth of the new moon and the beginning and end of the months, as they are among the tasks and jurisdiction of the Fatwa House according to the law establishing the House, issued by the National Council in 2012.
