The Minister of Economy and Trade, Mohammad Al-Hawij, has issued a decision banning the import of “potassium bromate” and preventing its use.
According to the decision, owners of bakeries and sweet and pastry factories are prohibited from using “potassium bromate”, in addition to mill owners as they are prohibited from adding it to flour production.
The decision directed the police authorities and members of the Municipal Guard to seize violators of the provisions of the decision, withdraw their licenses, confiscate their material, and refer them to the competent authorities.
