The Head of the Presidential Council (PC), Mohammed Menfi, stressed on Tuesday, July 6, the necessity to secure all polling stations in preparation for the elections, due to take place on December 24, calling on the nation to make the required concessions to provide the appropriate atmosphere for their success.

He reiterated the need to give precedence to the predominant interest of the nation over personal and regional interests, according to a statement issued by the PC’s media office.

This came during Menfi’s meeting with the Minister of Interior in the Government of National Unity (GNU), Khaled Mazen, in which they discussed the overall security situation in the country and the eastern region in particular.

During the meeting, Menfi confirmed his eagerness to unify all security institutions and to raise their level of performance in the face of terrorism and organized crime, but also to unite security and social peace in the country, recommending supporting security directorates throughout Libya.
