Interior Minister Imad Al-Trabelsi has discussed with the head of the European Union Technical Mission for Border Management (EUBAM) Jan Vyčítal the possibility of setting up a mechanism to equip and develop the Ras Jdir border crossing, the Al-Assa border sector operations room, and the Abu Sharaf tower.
The meeting, which was attended by the head of the Border Guard Service, the head of the Organizations Department in the Minister’s Office, and the director of operations at the mission, discussed training programs and qualifications for members of the Border Guard Service and all components of the relevant ministry, according to the ministry Facebook page.
On Sunday, Al-Trabelsi announced that the head of the Joint Security Room and his assistant would go to the Ras Jdir border crossing to assess the damage and find out the latest developments, expressing his hope that the border crossing would be opened before Eid Al-Fitr.
