The Minister of Local Government in the Government of National Unity, Badr Al-Din Al-Toumi, has met with the Senior Deputy Assistant Administrator for the Middle East Bureau at the US Agency for International Development (USAID), Andrew Plitt, the new USAID Country Representative, Christopher La Fargue, and members of the Murzuq Steering Committee.
The meeting discussed the US government's support for reconstruction and reconciliation efforts in Murzuq, according to the US embassy X platform page.
La Fargue, who is visiting Libya for the first time, expressed his aspiration to work with Libyans from all over the country to enhance stability and improve service delivery throughout the country.
