The Deputy Head of the Presidential Council, Mossa Al-Koni, discussed with a number of elders from the city of Murzuq in the far south of Libya the issue of rebuilding the city and the return of the internally displaced people (IDPs).

Al-Koni met on Wednesday with the elders of the city of Murzuq, as they stressed the necessity of reconstructing the city by reviewing their vision for rebuilding to ensure the return of the IDPs and contribute to its stability and development.

The elders explained that the return of the displaced people would contribute to the stability and development of the south, stressing the necessity of activating and financially supporting the city’s reconstruction to perform the tasks assigned to it.

Al-Koni indicated that he, along with representatives and ministers of the South, was following up on the Fezzan development file and the reconstruction of the city of Murzuq so that it gets its share of reconstruction similar to the cities of Benghazi and Derna.
