A committee formed by the Ministry of Justice in the Government of National Unity has discussed the possibility of concluding an agreement with Egypt to transfer Libyans sentenced there who met the conditions of the prisoner exchange agreement between the two countries.
The Permanent National Committee for Monitoring the Conditions and Judiciary of Libyan Prisoners Abroad discussed the conditions of Libyan prisoners and the problems and difficulties facing them in a meeting on Sunday, according to the ministry’s statement on its Facebook page.
The committee stressed the importance of intensifying periodic visits to prisons, providing them with the necessary support, and communicating with the families of prisoners.
