The Public Prosecution in Misrata has ordered the detention of two members of the Rescue Division at the Misrata Security Directorate following accusations of torturing a Pakistani worker while he was held in custody.
A statement issued by the Public Prosecution indicated that the Prosecutor at the West Misrata Primary Prosecution began investigating the assault incident and found that the two accused had violated the rights of the detainee, intentionally torturing him, subjecting him to harsh treatment, and humiliating him during his detention.
Activists on social media circulated videos showing the torture of an unidentified individual, which was attributed to the Rescue Division in Misrata.
