The Man-made River Authority confirmed an attack by an armed group on the west field of Al-Hasawna water system in Jafara Sunday evening.

The attack resulted in the destruction of four of the system's wells, MMRA explained, noting that vandalism acts have caused, so far, the destruction of 92 wells.

MMRA urged the authorities to take swift and effective measures to protect the fields and components of the MMRA in order to keep water supplies going.
