U.S. Special Envoy to Libya, Ambassador Richard Norland, met with Speaker of the House of Representatives (HoR), Aguila Saleh, on Wednesday in Benghazi.
A statement on the U.S. Embassy's X page said that Norland underscored the necessity for Libyan parties to achieve consensus on the future political process and highlighted the importance of approving a unified budget with contributions from both Tripoli and eastern factions.
He reiterated Washington's support for an inclusive, Libyan-led political process, in collaboration with the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL), aimed at fostering consensus, preventing division, enhancing national sovereignty and stability, improving services for all Libyans, and bolstering the country's democratic process.
