"Electricity is back in Tobruk after it plunged into total darkness on Tuesday due to the fall of a number of power pylons." says an official at the electricity company.

The director of the distribution department of the electricity company in Tobruk, Mohammed Al-Mabri said that they have managed to overcome the total blackout by connecting with the Egyptian network, stressing that measures have been taken to address the breakdown by replacing towers and connecting with the main feeding station in Benghazi.

The city of Tobruk and its suburbs had entered a state of total darkness Tuesday, after the collapse of electricity towers in the area of Tamimi.
