Minister of Sports, Abdel Shafi Al-Juweifi, has called on Prime Minister, Abdul Hamid Dbeibah, to intervene in order to accelerate the development and maintenance work at the Tripoli International Stadium so that the national teams participating in the African competitions would have the chance to play the home matches on their playgrounds.

Al-Juweifi addressed the PM in an official letter following his meeting with the Libyan Football Federation Head, Abdul Hakim Al-Shalmani.

Al-Shalmani emphasized the need to complete the maintenance work at the Tripoli Stadium according to the specifications and conditions set by the Confederation of African Football (CAF).

If Tripoli Stadium fails to meet the CAF conditions, Al-Ittihad and Al-Ahly teams will have to play their matches at Benina Stadium in Benghazi or on Tunisian stadiums.
