Tunisian Armed Forces (TAF) declared the state of high alert on the border with Libya and Algeria in anticipation of any sudden terrorist acts, and to repel any infiltration attempts by terrorists.
The move comes days after the US State Department warned its citizens not to travel to Tunisia because of what it called "increased risk and terrorist attacks against foreign and security targets," the Tunisian Defence Ministry said in a statement.
The US warning noted persistent fears of possible terrorist attacks in vital areas, asserting that government buildings are not excluded from these concerns.
