Muhammad Takala, Head of the High Council of State, received a Turkish delegation at his office in Tripoli on Sunday that included Deputy Foreign Minister Ahmed Yildiz and the Turkish Ambassador to Libya, Kanan Yilmaz.
The parties discussed means to enhance cooperation and mutual ties, in addition to regional and international developments, especially the unfolding situation in the Gaza Strip.
Takala stressed the necessity of protecting civilians, respecting international law, rejecting the displacement of the people of Gaza under any pretext, and the right of the Palestinian people to establish their state and preserve their land and sanctities.
Discussions also covered the political situation in Libya and ways to overcome the problems hindering the path to elections.
