The Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL), Hanna Tetteh, met in Tunis on Monday with the Ambassador of Canada to Libya, Isabelle Savard, UNSMIL said in a statement on X.
UNSMIL added that the UN envoy, Tetteh, had briefed the Canadian Ambassador on her initial round of consultations in Libya and the region focusing on both political and the economic developments.
It added that Ambassador Savard had pledged the continued support of Canada to the UN and Tetteh's effort to overcome the political impasse and support the country to hold general elections.
