UN Envoy Abdoulaye Bathily discussed with the High Council State President Mohammed Takala the outcomes of the Cairo tripartite meeting aimed at bridging viewpoints and resolving contentious issues regarding the approach to conducting consensus-based presidential and parliamentary elections.

The meeting took place Monday with the attendance of several members of the Council's presidency office.

A statement by the HCS media office said that talks addressed updates on the Libyan political situation and the meeting sponsored by the Arab League to resolve the political deadlock and guide the country towards fair and transparent national elections.
