The Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General and Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL), Hanna Tetteh, has reaffirmed the mission’s commitment to working with all Libyan parties to facilitate an inclusive, Libyan-led political process.
This came during her meeting with Presidential Council member Abdullah Al-Lafi on Monday, Tetteh expressed support for ongoing efforts toward a national reconciliation process based on safeguarding rights, according to the UNSMIL Facebook page on Tuesday.
The meeting also addressed challenges related to the political situation, with Al-Lafi emphasizing the importance of holding elections based on a political agreement and reaffirming his support for UNSMIL’s efforts.
