The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) said on Sunday that more than 796,000 people in Libya are included in the targeted group of the UNHCR.

The latest periodic statistics released by the UNHCR, at the end of September, shows that more than 48,000 refugees and asylum seekers have been registered with the UNHCR.

More than 300,000 are IDPs and about 447,000 who have returned home (returnees).

166 asylum-seekers have been transferred from Libya to other safer countries via the gathering and departure centre of the UNHCR, according to the UNHCR data.
