The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) has provided food aid to 8,000 refugees in Tripoli, Misrata and Zawiya.

The UNHCR clarified that the aid was provided in cooperation with the World Food Program (WFP) along with support from the European Union (EU).

The Commission’s media office published pictures of food baskets being provided to those parties concerned.

On March 20, the UNHCR reported that it had expedited the resettlement of 83 refugees from Libya directly to Canada and Europe two weeks before announcing the completion of all procedures in coordination with the International Organization for Migration (IOM).
