In a joint statement, the embassies of the United States, the United Kingdom, Italy, France, and Germany affirmed their full support for the Libyan Audit Bureau and its leadership, describing it as an important institution for ensuring effective public financial management and contributing to the fight against corruption and the theft of Libya’s resources.
The five embassies emphasized their support for the Audit Bureau’s work, considering it an essential part of the Libyan state that helps strengthen international confidence in Libya, according to the statement.
The statement also stressed the need to respect the independence and integrity of the Audit Bureau by all parties in Libya, free from any political interference from any side.
