UNSMIL Deputy Head for Political Affairs Stephanie Williams discussed with a group of prominent political and academic figures in Benghazi the objectives of the UN-backed National Conference aimed to move Libya through its impasse.
A statement released by the mission on Twitter said that Williams listened carefully to the recommendations that were presented by the participants.
With the preceding years of crisis in Libya, observers see that there are strong hopes among many, that the National Conference could dislodge Libya from its crisis.
The conference has been scheduled to be held in the first weeks of 2019.
