The Officer-in-Charge of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL), Raisedon Zenenga, has stressed the importance of finalizing an implementable legal framework to enable elections, confirming the need for Libyan stakeholders to reach an agreement on all contentious issues through inclusive dialogue.
This came during his meeting with the mayor of Zliten Muftah Hammadi, highlighted Zliten’s vital role building social cohesion and reconciliation, given its diversity and position as a commercial centre and home of diverse communities, according to the UNSMIL X platform page.
They discussed the political and security situation in Libya and the Mayor raised concern about worrying polarization trends.
