The Libyan Interior Ministry of the Government of National Unity (GNU) organized a general gathering for its recruits at the Tripoli International Airport, with the participation of 40,000 security personnel.

According to Hakomitna platform, public administrations and security agencies and directorates in the region extending from Misrata to Ras Ajdair and to Nalut southwest of Tripoli, participated in the gathering, which was held for the first time in Libya.

Libyan Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibah said in a speech during his participation in the event that "this gathering confirms the ability to secure the electoral process and take the country to safety.”

He said the members of the Ministry of Interior "are sending today a clear message that achieving the will of Libyans is a matter of decision.” 

Dbeibah also hailed the efforts of the Ministry of Interior in cooperation with the military forces in reducing the phenomenon of fuel smuggling on land and at sea. He also appreciated its role in reducing the influxes of illegal immigration.

The event was attended by Interior Minister Emad Al-Trabelsi, Deputy Head of Presidential Council Abdullah Al-Lafi, the Chief of General Staff of the Libyan Army, Mohammed Al-Haddad among others.
