The Man-Made River Authority (MMRA) has confirmed that electricity has been restored to the wells in the Eastern Field of the Hassawna system - Sahl Jafara, following an interruption that caused all wells to stop operating.

The stations have been recharged, and the wells have resumed gradual operation. Additionally, over one hundred out of the one hundred fifty-five wells that had previously gone out of service have been successfully restarted, the MRAA stated.

The Eastern Field has since returned to full operation on Sunday morning, with partial supply continuing from the northern and southern fields that were unaffected by the power outage.

On Saturday, the MMRA announced a power outage affecting the Eastern Field, which resulted in the cessation of all pumping stations, wells, and the main control room of the Hassawna-Sahl Jafara system in Ben Gheshir Palace. As a result, there was a significant reduction in daily production rates.
