Tripoli

Tripoli has been ranked as one of Africa’s top five cities with the lowest cost of living for 2025, according to Business Insider Africa.

The rankings, derived from data analyzed by the global database Numbeo, place the Libyan capital in third position on the continent and 15th globally, with a cost of living index score of 20.6.

The report highlights Alexandria, Egypt, as the most affordable city in Africa and second worldwide, scoring 17.9. Cairo follows as Africa’s second and 11th globally, with a score of 19.6. Algeria’s capital, Algiers, ranks fourth in Africa and 44th globally with 26.1, while Kampala, Uganda, rounds off the top five in Africa and 45th globally with 26.4 points.

While cities with lower living costs attract individuals and businesses operating on tighter budgets, the report suggests that these locations may face challenges in attracting high-end projects and luxury investments.
