Minister of Foreign Affairs, Najla Al-Manqoush, received on Tuesday the German Special Envoy to Libya Christian Buck and German Ambassador Michael Unmacht, in which they discussed the possibility of holding a 3rd Berlin Conference, as she reiterated Libya's commitment to the 1st and 2nd Berlin outputs.
A statement by the media office of Libya's Foreign Ministry said the German envoy confirmed that the Government of National Unity is the legitimate authority and that his country will continue its support for efforts to maintain stability to achieve electoral success.
Al-Manqoush briefed the German diplomats on the GNU's vision to move toward elections according to a short-term and clear roadmap that defines commitments toward the electoral process.
She said that achieving the electoral process is everyone's responsibility, which requires concerted efforts of the legislative and executive bodies away from political polarization and avoiding any scenarios that contradict the aspirations of the Libyan people, as she put it.
