“Al-Muwatana Hakki (citizenship is my right) and I Won’t Give it Away” Movement welcomed in a statement Monday the verdict of Al-Bayda Appeals Court, which ordered to shelve the decision to amend the internal codes list of the Constitution Drafting Assembly.

The member of the Movement, Waleed Belhaj, said in a press statement that they are calling on all the specialized bodies to start implementing the Appeals Court’s verdict and look for alternative solutions to replace the CDA, which could not unite itself on one table, envisioning that it won’t be able to write a constitution for Libya.

Nadia Omran, the member of the CDA commented on the verdict by saying that it won’t affect the CDA’s work and that the stoppage verdict is just a temporary one, saying that Al-Bayda Appeals Court has delivered a verdict for the “urgent” case to put on hold the decision to amend the internal list of codes.

Omran added that the CDA is continuing its work as usual until a definite verdict is delivered regarding the issue, stressing that the CDA members will wait for the final verdict of the Appeals Court and abide by it.

The Administrative Department of Al-Bayda Appeals Court delivered Monday a verdict that stopped the decision to amend the internal codes list of the Constitution Drafting Assembly that is related to the voting quorum until a final verdict on the case is delivered.

It is worth mentioning that the CDA members, Ibtisam Baheih, Mustafa Dalaq, and Al-Siddeeq Al-Dirs, appealed for the administrative judiciary in Al-Bayda on April 20 regarding the final draft of the Work Committee of the CDA as well as the amendment done to the internal list of codes.
