The Head of the Presidential Council Fayez Al-Sirraj has met with the commander of joint operations room in western Libya, Osma Juwaili to discuss the developments on the frontlines and security status in western region, in addition to the reinforcement of military capabilities of the fighting units on the frontlines.

Al-Sirraj's media office said Thursday that the two officials talked about the measures adopted to ensure the safety of civilians after security facilities had become a target for the attacking forces under Khalifa Haftar's command.

On Wednesday, Al-Sirraj met with the Head of the High Council of State, Khalid Al-Maishir, and discussed the need to defeat the attacking forces with all available capabilities.

Al-Sirraj said in an OpEd on Korea Times website that his government is conditioning Haftar's forces withdrawal to any ceasefire talks, which should be adherent to the laws approved in the Libyan Political Agreement signed in Skhirat on December 17, 2015.

Meanwhile, uneasy calm has descended on fighting frontlines in southern Tripoli since Monday, with some sporadic artillery firing from both sides, except for the airstrikes that have been on a continuous basis; the last of which by Haftar's warplanes killed two police officers and injured four.
