The head of the Presidential Council, the Supreme Commander of the Libyan Army, Mohammed Menfi, met on Sunday with the Chief of the General Staff, Mohammed Al-Haddad, and the Commander of the Western Military Region, Osama Al-Juwaili, to discuss number of files related to the activities and tasks of the Western Military Region.

Menfi stressed his keenness to enhance stability through continuous coordination with the General Staff, in accordance with the directives and instructions issued in this regard, according to the PC media office.

Menfi’s meeting with Al-Juwaili was the first in more than a year after the latter left Tripoli following his participation in the attempt of the former head of the parallel government, Fathi Bashagha, to seize government headquarters and storm Tripoli.

After the clashes ended with the withdrawal of Bashagha’s forces, Al-Juwaili stationed his forces in the Aziziyah area (45 km south of Tripoli) and continued to maintain a hostile posture against Dbeibah’s government.
