Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibah met Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Istanbul on Friday, Dbeibah's office said.

The leaders discussed cooperation, especially in the field of military training, trade exchange, and reconstruction efforts in areas of Libya that were affected by floods.

PM Dbeibah expressed his gratitude to Turkey for supporting local response efforts in Derna and other eastern cities affected by Storm Daniel.

Erdogan, on the other hand, emphasized Turkey's readiness to help in the reconstruction of Derna and neighbouring cities and to share the Turkish experience in this regard.

The leaders tackled ways to enhance trade exchange and facilitate movement procedures between the two countries.

Erdogan also assigned the Turkish Minister of Energy to participate in the Libyan energy conference scheduled for November in the capital, Tripoli.
