The Libyan Prime Minister, Abdul Hamid Dbeibah, announced that necessary measures will be taken as Libya's capital Tripoli awaits the imminent return of the General Secretariat of the Community of Sahel-Saharan States (CEN-SAD).

Dbeibah made his remarks when he attended the general assembly meeting of the Sahel and Sahara Bank for Investment and Trade held in Tripoli on Monday.

He hailed Libya's hosting the meeting for the first time since 2009, saying it shows Libya's willingness to revive and strengthen cooperation with the countries of the Sahel and Sahara, in addition to support the bank in order to achieve its goals in developing investments and supporting intra-trade among member states.

Dbeibah said that his government launched a plan called "Return of Life" to achieve development in Libya, increasing development spending to reach 20% of the total government spending in 2021, while it ranged between 5 and 7.3% in previous years.

He added that the plan achieved its goals by moving forward the stalled development projects in Libya, which needs to build a strategic vision for its regional role that achieves the interest of the Libyan people in the first place.
