The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mohammed Essa, said working on the return of the general assembly of Community of Sahel–Saharan States to work at its headquarters in Tripoli is a vital sign of Libya’s stability for the world.

The remarks were made in a meeting for Essa and the Acting Secretary General, Brigi Rafini, on Monday, when they discussed the arrangements for the return of the community to Tripoli soon as Essa reiterated that instructions were made to facilitate this return, explaining that the community’s transfer to Chad was due to the instability of Libya at the time.

Essa hoped that the return of the community would be a new beginning for activating its role in regional and continental arenas, knowing that Libya was the major establishing state of the community in February 1998.

Rafini said the instability that led to moving the headquarters to Chad ended and Libya is now stable and there's no hindrance for the return of the community to operate in Tripoli after finishing up some procedures.
