Defend Benghazi Brigades said their battle is not against any tribe or against those who disagree with them, but rather against Haftar’s terrorist project, adding that it won’t get involved in any oppressive attack and it would shake hands with anyone who has not shed blood of the innocent.
In a statement Monday, Defend Benghazi Brigades said they are from Benghazi, where Haftar’s forces shed the blood of the innocent, stole their money and robbed and burnt their houses as well as displaced their families, pointing out that the return of the displaced to their houses is guaranteed by the Sharia law of Islam and is supported by all honest and honorable people.
The Defend Benghazi Brigades also said that they are no linked to any organizations or parties in or out the country, stressing that the battle is to regain the rights of people and that they will fight all those who back up Haftar in his war on Benghazi.
The brigades kick-started Monday a military operation named “Volcano of Rage” aiming at liberating Benghazi from the coup plotters and former regime henchmen as well as bringing the displaced families back to their houses after more than two years of misery and forced displacement by Haftar’s militias.
