The French President's special envoy to Libya, Paul Soler, has confirmed his country continued consultation with countries interested in the Libyan file, to find an appropriate formula that contributes to resolving the Libyan crisis.
The members of the Presidential Council, Musa Al-Koni and Abdullah Al-Lafi, met on Monday with the French envoy in the presence of the French Ambassador to Libya, Mostafa Mihraje.
Both sides reviewed latest developments in the political situation in the country, especially the state of political impasse that the country has been experiencing since months.
The French envoy stressed that his country places the Libyan file among its first concerns, and seeks to help Libya get out of the political impasse by communicating with all political parties, to achieve stability and reach elections through Libyan solutions, according to a statement issued by the Presidential Council.
He also praised the Presidential Council’s response to developments in the recent period, and its ability to take steps that help end the current political impasse.
For their part, the PC members praised France government support for the Libyan political file, stressing the need for the international community to support Libyan-led solutions to achieve stability.
Two months ago, Macron's envoy visited Libya, where he assured the head of the Presidential Council, Mohammed Menfi, of France's support for the efforts aimed at addressing the political impasse in Libya to ensure stability and reach elections, according to the media office of the Presidential Council.
