The German ambassador to Libya, Christian Buck, visited the mountain town of Zintan on Tuesday, accompanied by a delegation from the embassy, to discuss ways of supporting construction of the town’s airport.

The German Embassy said in a brief statement that Ambassador Buck held a meeting with the mayor of the town, Mustafa Baruni, along with members of the Zintan Municipal Council as well as MPs in the House of Representatives who represent Zintan.

Those present at the meeting discussed the political situation in Libya and the vision of the representatives of Zintan for the future of the country, in addition to ways to strengthen cooperation between Germany and the government and Libyan municipalities in general, and with Zintan in particular.

The German delegation toured Zintan airport as Buck discussed with the head of the airport, Mohammed Duweib, the possibilities of Germany support and aide to develop it, in cooperation with competent Libyan authorities.
