The spokesman for the emergency room in Ghat Municipality, Hassan Othman, said that the situation in the cities of Ghat and Al-Barak was good, as there were no dangerous floods any more. Othman said in a press statement that the neighborhoods located east of Tahala were completely flooded, but the water receded; calling for caution amid expectations of rain on Saturday.
The mayor of Ubari, Ahmed Matko, confirmed that the municipality had taken all measures with the relevant authorities to tackle the aftermath the rain; pointing out the need to support the Red Crescent, the Social Affairs Sector and Civil Defense with logistical supplies in anticipation of any emergency.
Matko said that the municipality had not received any support from the two governments to confront any potential repercussions due to weather fluctuations in the southwestern regions.
Bint Baya municipality, meanwhile, formed an operations room to follow up on the situation in the city around the clock in anticipation of any emergency due to bad weather conditions. The mayor of the municipality, Ashraf Al-Muslih, said that the municipality sent four ambulances to Tahala, and gave instructions to the mayors of the municipalities to follow the paths of the valleys.
He expressed the municipality's readiness to confront any circumstance, calling for providing the simplest means to deal with humanitarian cases.
