The Director of Military Intelligence for the Libyan Army, Mahmoud Hamza, held discussions with Algerian officials on enhancing cooperation and joint coordination between their respective countries.
During his visit to Algeria, Hamza met with the Algerian Army's Chief of Staff, the Director of Algerian Intelligence, and the Director of Algeria's Counter-Terrorism Agency.
The meetings focused on establishing a mechanism for exchanging information on counter-terrorism and drug trafficking between the two nations.
Furthermore, both parties collaborated on developing strategic plans to combat various forms of smuggling, secure borders, and establish training mechanisms and expertise exchange programs.
Brigadier General Mahmoud Hamza, commander of the 444th Brigade, was appointed in March by Prime Minister/ Minister of Defence Abdul Hamid Dbeibah as the Director of Military Intelligence.
