A Libyan delegation participated in the meetings of the 45th edition of the Executive Council of the African Union in Accra, Ghana.
According to a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Libyan delegation was headed by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs in the Government of National Unity, Mohammed Essa.
During this session on Thursday, the Council discussed a number of important issues, including the development file, strengthening the structures of the African Union, and following up on the implementation of the Council’s decisions regarding accelerating the process of integration and strategic partnerships.
Essa expressed observations on the issues reviewed by the Council, and explained Libya’s position on some of them in addition to Libya's participation in adopting and following up on the implementation of the decisions of the Council and the bodies of the African Union.
On the sidelines of the meeting, Essa held a bilateral meeting with Moroccan Foreign Minister and the two sides discussed issues of joint interest at the bilateral level, in addition to coordination on regional and continental issues on the agenda of the Executive Council, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
