The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) expects the weather to remain hot in most regions of the country today (Misrata – the interior - Gulf - the eastern and southern regions), with maximum temperatures ranging between (38-45), with sometimes active wind that raises dust and sand in some areas of the northwest, especially the highlands of the Nafusa Mountain. Clouds will increase from time to time in some western regions.
The temperature will drop this afternoon in the northwestern regions, especially the coastal regions, including most of the northwestern regions tomorrow, with high humidity in the coastal regions.
The weather conditions in Libya, Monday, 20 May 2024, and over the next few days are as follows:
1. Area extending from Ras Jadir to Sirte - Al-Jafara Plain - Jabal Nafusa (North West of Libya):
- Sky condition: Increasing clouds from time to time.
- Wind: Southwesterly to westerly at moderate speed, sometimes active in some areas, raising dust and sand, gradually turning to northwesterly at moderate speed.
- Temperature: Ranges in most areas of Ras Jadir up to Sirte, the Jaffara Plain, and the Nafusa Mountain between (38-43 °C) , and between (32-35°C) on the coast from Zawiya to Tripoli, and will record a gradual decline this afternoon in the coastal areas with high humidity tomorrow.
2. Gulf - Benghazi plain up to Emssad (North East of Libya):
- Sky condition: -
- Wind: Southeasterly to southwesterly at moderate speeds, gradually turning from tomorrow evening to moderate northwesterly wind, and it will be northeasterly to easterly on Tobruk and the far eastern coast.
- Temperature: Ranging in most areas between (37-45°C).
3. Al-Jufra - Sabha - Ghat - Ghadames – Hamada (South West of Libya):
- Sky condition: Few clouds, increasing from time to time in the area.
- Wind: Southeasterly to southwesterly moderate, sometimes active in some areas.
- Temperature: Ranging between (41-45 °C).
4. The Oases - Sarir - Tazirbo – Kufra (South East of Libya):
- Sky condition: Some clouds.
- Wind: Variable direction to southeasterly, light to moderate in speed.
- Temperature: Ranging between (41-45 °C).
