The National Center of Meteorology expected that the western regions of the country will be affected by a desert depression accompanied by a hot air mass that will contribute to temperatures rising above their monthly averages starting today, especially in the interior regions. The effect will be clear from tomorrow, Monday, when temperature is expected to range between (40 - 45°C). As of Tuesday, it will range between high and low temperatures depending on the region.
The NCM expected, in its daily bulletin, that temperatures would be moderate in the northeastern regions, ranging between (28-32°C) and a gradual rise would be recorded as of tomorrow, Monday, while the weather would remain unchanged in the southeastern regions.
The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) issued its weather bulletin about expected weather conditions in Libya, for Sunday, June 09, 2024, as follows:
1. Area extending from Ras Jadir to Sirte - Al-Jafara Plain - Jabal Nafusa (North West of Libya):
- Sky condition: Some clouds.
- Wind: Will vary in direction to northeasterly, light to moderate speed, tomorrow it will be southerly to southwesterly, moderate to active speed.
- Temperature: Ranges between (31-36 °C) in coastal areas, and between (38-43°C) in the rest of the regions, and will record a rise tomorrow in most regions, especially the interior. It will range between high and moderate depending on the region, over the next two days.
2. Gulf - Benghazi plain up to Emssad (North East of Libya):
- Sky condition: Clear.
- Wind: Moderate northwesterly, active at times on the far eastern coast, gradually turning from tomorrow evening to easterly and southeasterly.
- Temperature: Ranges in most areas between (27-33°C). It will record a gradual increase starting tomorrow.
3. Al-Jufra - Sabha - Ghat - Ghadames – Hamada (South West of Libya):
- Sky condition: Clear.
- Wind: Easterly to northeasterly, light to moderate speed, and southerly to southwesterly, active on the day in Ghadames and moderate speed in the areas of Al-Jufra.
- Temperature: Ranging in most areas between (39-44°C). It will gradually rise over the next two days.
4. The Oases - Sarir - Tazirbo – Kufra (South East of Libya):
- Sky condition: Clear.
- Wind: Moderate northeasterly to easterly.
- Temperature: Ranging in most areas between (36-39 °C).
