Weather Forecast

The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) expected that weather conditions Sunday will be moderate in most areas, especially with regard to extreme temperatures, with clouds increasing from time to time today over Al Jabal Al Akhdar and Derna, with the possibility of light rain.

The NCM expected in its daily bulletin that maximum temperatures would record a gradual rise starting tomorrow in the western regions of the country, ranging from (30-37°C), with relatively active winds from the southern sector, especially in the southwestern regions, and that the rise would be markable starting from Tuesday in these areas (heat wave).

The weather bulletin about expected weather conditions in Libya, Sunday, 12 May 2024, as follows: 
    
1.    Area extending from Ras Jadir to Sirte - Al-Jafara Plain - Jabal Nafusa (North West of Libya):

- Sky condition: Moderate clouds will appear over the area.
- Wind: Northeasterly, variable in direction, light speed, turning tomorrow to southeasterly, then southwesterly, light to moderate speed.
- Temperature: Ranges between (24-30 °C), and will gradually increase starting tomorrow, and will be marked on Tuesday.

2.    Gulf - Benghazi plain up to Emssad (North East of Libya):
- Sky condition:      Clouds are increasing from time to time today over the Gulf region and the Benghazi Plain up to Emssad, with the possibility of light rain falling over Al Jabal Al Akhdar and Derna.
- Wind: Northwesterly to northerly, moderate in speed.
- Temperature: Ranging in most areas between (19-25°C).

3.    Al-Jufra - Sabha - Ghat - Ghadames – Hamada (South West of Libya):
- Sky condition:      Some clouds. 
- Wind: Northeasterly to southeasterly moderate, sometimes active in some areas.
- Temperature: Ranging in most areas between (30-36 °C), and an increase will be recorded starting Monday.

  4.  The Oases - Sarir - Tazirbo – Kufra (South East of Libya):
- Sky condition: Clear to some clouds.
- Wind: Northwesterly to northeasterly, light to moderate in speed.
 - Temperature: Ranging between (28-32 °C).
