The National Center of Meteorology (NCM) expects that hot air mass is still affecting most regions of the country (the northwest, the Gulf, and the southwest), where maximum temperature ranges between (37-43 °C), with active southerly winds, especially tomorrow, causing dust and sand, while the temperature is relatively moderate today at highlands. The Green Mountain and the far eastern coast will record a gradual temperature increase over the next two days.
The temperature is expected to drop tomorrow in some areas of the northwest from (Ras Jadir to Tripoli) due to northwesterly wind, where it will be lower than the rest of the areas, and the intensity of the effect of the hot air mass will decrease on Friday at the northwestern regions of the country compared to the rest of the regions.
The weather bulletin about expected weather conditions in Libya, Wednesday, 15 May 2024, as follows:
1. Area extending from Ras Jadir to Sirte - Al-Jafara Plain - Jabal Nafusa (North West of Libya):
- Sky condition: Few clouds, increasing tomorrow over Nalut and its surroundings.
- Wind: Southerly to southwesterly, moderate in speed, active at times, especially tomorrow in some areas, and will turn northwesterly tomorrow on the coast from Tripoli to the far west coast.
- Temperature: Ranges between (38-43 °C). It will be lower tomorrow in the areas from Tripoli to Ras Jadir, and will record a slight decline on Friday, especially on the coast.
2. Gulf - Benghazi plain up to Emssad (North East of Libya):
- Sky condition: Clear to few clouds.
- Wind: Southerly to southwesterly, moderate to active, stirring up dust and sand.
- Temperature: Ranging in most areas between (31-40°C) is expected to rise over the next two days.
3. Al-Jufra - Sabha - Ghat - Ghadames – Hamada (South West of Libya):
- Sky condition: Few clouds over Al-Jufra, Ghat, Ghadames, and Al-Hamada.
- Wind: Southeasterly to southerly, moderate to brisk, occasionally stirring dust and sand.
- Temperature: Ranging in most areas between (38-43 °C).
4. The Oases - Sarir - Tazirbo – Kufra (South East of Libya):
- Sky condition: Some clouds will appear over the area.
- Wind: Moderate easterly to southeasterly.
- Temperature: Ranging between (33-39 °C).
