The Deputy Chief of General Staff, Lieutenant General Salah Al-Namroush, issued instructions to seven brigades to quickly equip a military force consisting of a battalion with all its military equipment as soon as possible, adding in a letter addressed to the Head of the Operations Authority, based on the instructions of Al-Namroush, to the Chief of Staff of the Naval Forces, the Tripoli Military Zone, and the West Coast Military Zone.

The letter did not explain the reasons for mobilizing the battalion or its possible tasks.

The seven brigades identified in the letter are: the 555th Infantry Brigade, the 444th Combat Brigade, the 103rd Infantry Battalion, the 111th Infantry Brigade, the 51st Infantry Brigade, the 52nd Infantry Brigade, and the 62nd Infantry Brigade.

Al-Namroush's letter comes after the state of tension witnessed at the Ras Ajdair border crossing between Libya and Tunisia, which caused its closure since last Monday.

Last Wednesday, the Minister of Interior Emad Al-Trabelsi announced the withdrawal of members working in the Security Directorate, the Police Station, and the Passports and Citizenship Authority from the Ras Ajdair border "to preserve lives and property.”
