The Ministry of Transportation of the Government of National Unity (GNU) announced on Thursday the conclusion of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for cooperation between the Civil Aviation Authority and the General Civil Aviation Authority in Qatar.

The MoU was signed in initials on the Libyan side by the head of the Aviation Authority, Mohammed Shalibak, and on the Qatari side by the acting head of the General Authority of Civil Aviation, Mohammed Faleh Al-Hajri, according to the ministry’s statement on Facebook.

The Undersecretary for Air Transport Affairs, Khaled Suwaisi, said that the MoU would aim to enhance and develop joint cooperation in the field of civil aviation in general, and to establish a framework of work between the two parties in developing and operating channels of joint cooperation.

The MoU covers areas of cooperation in air safety, air traffic management, civil aviation security and facilities, meteorological services, legal affairs, exchanging trained and qualified competencies, and organizing workshops and training courses.
