Libya’s Mufti, sheikh Sadiq Al-Gharyani, said French Defense Ministry’s confirmation of the death of three French soldiers in western Benghazi is an apparent declaration of war on Libya, calling on all Libyans to denounce such a blatant intervention.

Speaking to Tanasuh TV channel Wednesday evening, Mufti Al-Gharyani said the proud announcement of the French Defense Ministry about having three French troops killed in Libya is a clear declaration of war and all Libyans must take to the streets and protest such an intervention by France.

“Libyans must unite to fight the foreign attack, the issue is crystal clear now, our country is being attacked by a foreign country – the French are fighting the revolutionaries in Benghazi.” Libya’s Mufti added.

He also called on all the revolutionaries to discard their conflicts and fight this attack on their country, urging as well the ones who support the political agreement, especially in Tripoli, to end their support and stop protecting the Presidential Council as its decisions are all in favor of Khalif Haftar and his followers.

The Mufti reaffirmed that Defend Benghazi Brigades operation came to stop the violations of Haftar and his militias and to make a safe return for the displaced to their city, Benghazi, pointing out that what Libya is going through is not more than a crime crafted in the intelligence lobbies and executed by the international community with the blessing of the political parties who are supposedly called revolutionaries.
