Algeria, Tunisia, and Libya are set to collaborate on a groundbreaking electricity exchange project aimed at addressing energy demands during peak summer months.

A proposed interconnection line will allow the exchange of up to 1,500 megawatts across the three nations.

Tunisia’s minister of industry, mines, and energy, and the director general of Algeria's national electricity company, signed agreements to boost technical cooperation and strengthen socio-economic ties.

According to Tunisia’s energy ministry, the initiative promises to ease pressure on electricity networks and foster regional energy collaboration.

Experts are optimistic about the potential of this project to not only stabilize electricity supplies but also pave the way for future energy partnerships in the region.
