Russia's Ambassador to Libya, Aydar Aghanin, has reaffirmed “Moscow's continued support for a political solution to the crisis in Libya, consistent with the efforts of UN envoy Abdoulaye Bathily.”

Aghanin made his remarks during a meeting with Presidential Council member Abdullah Al-Lafi in Tripoli.

The ambassador confirmed his country's readiness to contribute to the success of the national reconciliation project, deeming it a fundamental pillar for achieving stability in the country.

According to the PC, the parties discussed bilateral relations between the two nations and developments in the political scene in Libya.

They shared views on ways to end the transitional stages and achieve consensus among all parties participating in the political process by addressing controversial points to arrive at elections.
